Principal Engineer at Domino Data Lab

We are now looking for an experienced engineering leader to help us scale secure, regulated AI environments for customers around the world.

What is this role?

This is a full-time, remote Principal Engineer position at the executive level. You will serve as both a technical architect and a strategic advisor, guiding cross-functional teams while shaping the long-term direction of our cloud-native platform.

What will you do?

• Translate the latest advances in AI and machine learning into a clear technical vision, then work with product leads to turn that vision into a prioritized roadmap of new platform capabilities.
• Provide hands-on architectural guidance, mentor engineers, and make key decisions about technologies, frameworks, and deployment models that keep Domino reliable at enterprise scale.
• Partner with engineering managers, stakeholders, and customers to define project scope, manage risk, and ensure every release meets both technical and business goals.

What makes you a great fit?

You bring deep expertise in AI and ML ecosystems, along with proven success leading the architecture of complex, highly regulated products delivered to both cloud and on-premise environments. You are fluent in Domain Driven Design and comfortable working with Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, and GCP. Strong development experience in Java, Scala, or Go lets you review code, enforce best practices, and coach teams toward clean, scalable solutions. You thrive when managing multiple priorities, thinking three to five years ahead, and communicating clearly with engineers, data scientists, and executives alike. A data-science or computer-science background, intellectual curiosity, and a collaborative leadership style round out the profile we seek.
