What you'll be doing

• Provide architectural leadership by designing and evolving Minted's platform with a focus on scalability, performance, and long-term maintainability across product data management, order flow, template rendering, and overall software architecture.
• Lead API development by designing, implementing, and maintaining robust APIs that serve as the backbone of Minted's services and ensure seamless integration across applications.
• Drive backend systems development, including data processing pipelines, database management, and microservices architecture, while defining technical strategies that align with business objectives.

What you'll bring

You bring at least seven years of professional software development experience along with a bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience. You have extensive experience designing, building, and migrating complex software systems, and you understand how to model business problems accurately in code. You possess strong programming skills across multiple languages and a solid grasp of reliability and scalability challenges in distributed systems running on unreliable hardware. You are a technical leader who can influence decisions, drive consensus, and mentor engineers through code reviews and collaborative problem-solving. Excellent verbal and written communication skills allow you to explain complex technical concepts to varied audiences. Experience with JavaScript, Python, or Golang, along with knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes, is highly valued, as is prior work in a fast-paced e-commerce environment.

What you'll get

The compensation range for this role varies by location. For the San Francisco Bay Area the range is $223,560 to $293,423. For other parts of California, Washington D.C., and New York the range is $205,675 to $269,949. For Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington the range is $190,026 to $249,409. For all remaining states the range is $174,377 to $228,870. This role is also eligible for an annual performance bonus and stock options.
