Are you ready to shape the future of the built environment by leading the technical direction of a global platform that turns every building into a smarter, more sustainable asset?
What you bring
We are looking for a Principal Engineer who will guide architecture and development across our entire product suite while remaining hands-on with code. You will bring senior-level expertise in Product and Engineering, working full time in a remote capacity. Your background will include deep experience with Azure, .NET, TypeScript, and React, along with a strong command of software development practices, security, architecture, containers, and networking. Three core responsibilities define the role: you will oversee all software development to maintain consistency, best practices, code quality, security, observability, and reliability; you will partner with Product, Sales, Marketing, and Delivery teams to deliver both business outcomes and technical solutions; and you will design complex Azure systems that incorporate containers, networking components, proxies, and a wide range of Azure resources. The position is open to candidates located anywhere.
Requirements
Ideal candidates operate comfortably at an architectural level on complex .NET plus TypeScript and React applications and have proven experience building and deploying systems on Azure. You will have set technical standards covering allowed languages, libraries, Azure resources, and .NET versions in previous roles. You bring confidence in your solutions, are sought out for company-wide initiatives because of your thoughtful approach, and serve as a champion for security. You act as a trusted advisor on architecture and exert a positive influence across the entire organization. Fluency in English is required.
What we offer
In addition to meaningful work on technology that improves buildings around the world, we provide true flexible working arrangements that can be fully remote or hybrid, parental leave for growing families, up to three paid days each year to support causes you care about or to advance your skills through Willow Academy, and employee discounts on a range of shopping and services.
