Since our founding by David Aninowsky, we have grown into the world’s largest privately-held cloud computing company, all while remaining completely bootstrapped. Today, we support over 1.5 million customers in 185 countries, providing a robust suite of Cloud Compute, GPU, Bare Metal, and storage solutions from our 32 data centers worldwide. We are a team that values innovation and impact, and we are looking for someone who is ready to help us shape the future of cloud infrastructure.
The opportunity
We are seeking a Principal Engineer for AI ML Infrastructure to join our engineering team. This role is a cornerstone of our growth strategy, focusing on the development and support of our expanding GPU-based product offerings. You will take ownership of the provisioning and setup of our GPU systems, driving operational excellence and ensuring that our infrastructure remains fast, stable, and performant for our diverse user base. If you are passionate about building scalable systems and want to leave your mark on a global platform, this is the place for you.
A day in the life
- You will develop and maintain our GPU infrastructure, working across both bare metal and containerized environments to ensure seamless performance.
- You will collaborate closely with our networking team to architect and build highly scalable, supportable GPU clusters.
- You will lead in-depth benchmarking, performance testing, and troubleshooting efforts to identify hardware or software limitations and resolve them alongside our vendor partners.
Who you are
You are a seasoned engineer with a deep technical background and a passion for high-performance computing. You communicate effectively in English and bring the following expertise to our team:
- Hands-on experience with high-performance GPUs, specifically NVIDIA products like NVLink, Infiniband, GRID drivers, vGPU, and NVAIE.
- In-depth knowledge of bare metal internals, including firmware, BIOS, BMC, NICs, Redfish/IPMI, and PCIe.
- Strong proficiency in Linux, device drivers, and package management.
- Proven experience with Python, BASH, and PHP.
- Familiarity with Machine Learning software and commercial firmware.
Why you'll love it here
We offer a competitive salary range of $140,000 to $170,000, which may vary based on your location, background, and experience. Beyond the paycheck, we are committed to supporting your life and career:
