We are currently searching for a Principal Embedded Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time, hybrid basis. This role is perfect for a leader with deep expertise in image processing and FPGAs who wants to apply their technical acumen to help our clients develop safe, secure, and reliable medical software.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of complex features using FPGA and VHDL, while managing image processing, H264, and video pipelining tasks.
- Write high-quality code using C and C++ for embedded platforms while overseeing the full design life cycle, including requirements specification, planning, and code reviews.
- Mentor and guide talented software engineers to foster a collaborative environment and ensure pragmatic, high-impact engineering solutions for our clients.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong background in software development and a passion for solving complex technical challenges. We look for the following qualifications:
- Over 13 years of combined software development experience, including proficiency in C, C++, and VHDL.
- Advanced skills in FPGA and VHDL design, as well as core competencies in image processing and video pipelining.
- A proven ability to develop software within memory-constrained and resource-constrained environments.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to define specifications, document processes, and guide high-level stakeholders through critical decision-making.
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience with embedded operating systems like Linux, VxWorks, QNX, or Integrity is highly valued, as is a background in regulated industries such as medical devices, aerospace, or the Department of Defense.
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies and Object-Oriented design is a significant plus.
