Introduction:

Join our dynamic team as a Principal Data Scientist and lead the revolution in the hospitality industry by creating cutting-edge solutions for hotel demand and pricing prediction. We are looking for an experienced full-stack data scientist to develop machine learning models that drive strategic decision-making and optimize revenue. You will collaborate closely with engineering and product teams, leading scientific efforts to enhance Duetto’s revenue management offerings, ultimately empowering hotels worldwide to make better decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead efforts in developing scientific solutions to predict hotel demand and pricing using statistical modeling and machine learning techniques, focusing on classical time series models, neural networks, and hierarchical forecasting methods.
• Apply state-of-the-art deep learning techniques to forecasting and pricing problems. 
• Lead projects and provide technical guidance to junior team members.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate ML solutions into our products.
• Work closely with product and engineering teams to translate model outputs into actionable strategies.
• Present findings and recommendations to senior management.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree or higher in Statistics, Econometrics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience delivering innovative solutions in fast-paced, data-driven environments, with a proven track record of applying scientific methods to solve real-world problems at scale. 
• Strong expertise in statistical and machine learning, focusing on time series forecasting using classical models and deep learning approaches.
• Experience in developing and deploying ML models at scale, utilizing tools like AWS SageMaker or similar platforms.
• Possess a strong intuition for selecting appropriate methods, discerning when simpler solutions are needed versus complex ones, and capable of leading and conceiving projects in a startup environment.
• Ability to work in an ambiguous environment, balancing rigor, speed, attention to detail, and a commitment to high-quality results.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with ML/DL frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, DARTS) and programming languages (Python, R, SQL).

Bonus / Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in the hospitality industry, specifically in revenue management or demand forecasting.
• Experience in measurement methods, including causal inference, for analyzing algorithmic impact on products.
