At Accompany Health, we are on a mission to provide dignified, high-quality care to low-income patients who have complex needs. As a primary, behavioral, and social care provider, we walk alongside our patients throughout their entire journey, offering virtual and at-home care with support available around the clock. We believe in building long-term relationships so our patients know we are always here for them. By partnering with innovative payors and utilizing our own technology, we are working to correct long-standing disparities in the healthcare system. We are a distributed team across the country, and we are looking for someone who is eager to make a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most.
The opportunity
We are looking for a Principal Data Engineer to join our growing team as a mission-critical leader. In this role, you will help us rewire the healthcare experience by integrating fragmented services into a seamless, end-to-end journey. You will collaborate closely with our Product, Sales, and Clinical Operations teams to build the infrastructure that powers our care models. This is an opportunity to shape our engineering culture, balancing the need for rapid product development with the long-term health of our technical systems.
A day in the life
- You will act as the primary domain expert for our data architecture, leading the design and implementation of scalable, reliable infrastructure that supports both internal and external customers.
- You will translate complex business requirements into a clear technical roadmap, working alongside product stakeholders to ensure our data ecosystem is robust and efficient.
- You will serve as a data champion, building sophisticated pipelines and tools that empower our analytics and data science teams to innovate and optimize our care delivery.
Who you are
You are an entrepreneurial and mission-driven professional with at least 7 years of experience in data engineering and a graduate degree in a quantitative field like Computer Science or Statistics. You communicate your ideas with clarity and confidence, and you thrive in dynamic, cross-functional environments.
Your core skills include:
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and extensive experience working with relational databases.
- A strong background in building and optimizing Big Data pipelines and architectures.
- Expertise in performing Root Cause Analysis to solve business problems and improve processes.
- Proficiency in managing datasets, metadata, and complex data structures.
- Strong Project Management skills to lead technical initiatives and drive excellence.
While not required, experience with tools like Snowflake, Spark, Kafka, Airflow, or programming languages such as Python, Golang, or Java is considered a significant plus.
Why you'll love it here
We are a mission-focused organization that values the contributions of every team member. We offer the flexibility of remote work, allowing you to contribute to our mission from anywhere in the country. We are deeply committed to diversity and believe that a wide range of perspectives creates a healthier, more effective atmosphere for our team and our patients.
