What is this role?
We are looking for a Principal Data Engineer to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. This is an executive-level position perfect for someone who enjoys tackling large-scale technical challenges. You will play a pivotal role in our current platform overhaul, helping us lead and shape our data and machine learning architecture as we continue to scale.
What will you do?
- Audit, design, and maintain high-performing data pipelines that support our machine learning, reporting, and analytics needs.
- Collaborate with our Cloud and DevOps teams to build the infrastructure required for efficient data ingestion from diverse sources using Python, SQL, and AWS.
- Partner with the CTO and other stakeholders to define and execute a technical roadmap that evolves our data capabilities and addresses complex business requirements.
What makes you a great fit?
To be successful in this role, you should bring at least 10 years of professional experience in data or engineering environments. We are looking for someone who is a strong individual contributor and a leader who can mentor others while championing best practices. You should be fluent in English and possess the following qualifications:
- Advanced SQL skills and extensive experience working with both relational and non-relational databases.
- Expertise in Python for processing and ingesting structured and unstructured data from various formats like REST APIs and logs.
- A proven ability to perform root cause analysis on complex processes to identify improvements and solve data quality issues at scale.
- A passion for building data models, enterprise data catalogs, and dictionaries that bring consistency to how we use information.
