We build the digital identity platform trusted by millions of people and hundreds of organizations to prove who they are online without repeated logins or extra steps. Our technology powers secure access at twenty federal agencies, forty-four state governments, and sixty-six healthcare organizations, and it is approved as a NIST 800-63-3 IAL2 / AAL2 credential service provider. We are now looking for an experienced data leader to shape how we store, govern, and use information at scale.
What is this role?
This is a full-time, on-site Principal Data Architect position based in the United States. The role is intended for senior professionals who have already led data architecture work inside large SaaS environments or mature startups and are ready to set direction for an enterprise-grade data platform.
What will you do?
- Design and maintain the overall data architecture strategy, including models for product data, lakes, warehouses, and pipelines that serve the entire enterprise.
- Define and enforce standards for data governance, quality, metadata, and security while ensuring compliance with regulations such as GDPR and FedRAMP.
- Partner with engineering and business teams to translate needs into scalable data solutions, evaluate new tools, and optimize database performance and workflows.
What makes you a great fit?
You hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field and bring at least ten years of hands-on experience in data engineering and architecture for a large SaaS company or mature startup. You have another ten years focused on data modeling, warehousing, and distributed processing systems that solve complex customer problems. Strong SQL skills and familiarity with at least one major cloud platform are essential, and experience with graph databases is highly valued. You communicate clearly in English, collaborate well with other engineers, and enjoy turning business requirements into practical, high-quality data implementations.
