We are Plus Power, a market leader in energy storage with a portfolio exceeding 10 GW across North America. We are transforming the electric grid by developing and operating standalone storage projects that provide critical services to wholesale markets, and we are looking for a Principal Cybersecurity Engineer to lead our security initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Drive our cybersecurity program by working closely with stakeholders across IT, data engineering, operations, and legal teams.
- Promote secure by design and secure by default strategies throughout the organization.
- Identify, monitor, and assess security vulnerabilities across our IT and operational technology environments.
- Manage our Compliance and Security Posture Management platforms to achieve and maintain industry certifications like NIST, NERC-CIP, and ISO.
- Develop and maintain a Third-Party Cyber Risk Management program to mitigate supply chain risks.
- Communicate cybersecurity metrics and risk assessments to senior leadership.
- Own the resolution of security events and technical risks while building systematic, repeatable security frameworks.
Must-haves
- At least 8 years of professional experience in security vulnerability identification and mitigation.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Deep technical expertise in at least two areas, such as network security, cryptography, threat modeling, or penetration testing.
- Proficiency in using scripting languages like Python to automate security processes.
- Strong experience with security frameworks such as SOC2, ISO27001, or NIST.
- Proven ability to manage audits, control testing, and risk management programs.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical risks for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice-to-haves
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA, or GIAC.
- Knowledge of operational technology security.
- Familiarity with security tools like EDR/XDR, ZTNA, and DLP.
