SewerAI is a Series B, venture-backed startup dedicated to transforming how cities and engineering firms manage their infrastructure. By leveraging cutting-edge artificial intelligence, we significantly reduce the costs and manual labor associated with maintaining essential systems. Our platform automates the identification of issues like cracks, roots, and grease in pipeline inspection footage, helping our rapidly growing client base move away from dangerous and repetitive tasks. We are currently looking for a Principal Computer Vision Engineer to join our team in a hybrid capacity within the United States.
Key outcomes
- Manage and analyze complex datasets to support our machine learning initiatives.
- Conduct research and experiment with novel AI architectures to improve system performance.
- Create detailed reports and visualizations that clearly communicate model results and system capabilities.
- Oversee and maintain our machine learning production pipeline.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and contribute to our agile development cycles.
Requirements
- A Master’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 6 years of hands-on experience in machine and deep learning, including neural networks, loss functions, optimization, and transfer learning.
- Proficiency with modern computer vision techniques such as object detection and convolutional neural networks.
- Strong command of Python and the data science ecosystem, including Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, and Jupyter.
- Proven experience working with PyTorch.
- A solid foundation in linear algebra, calculus, and statistics.
- Demonstrated ability to deploy deep learning models into production environments.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical findings to diverse stakeholders.
- A results-oriented mindset and the ability to implement findings from the latest research papers.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience applying deep learning techniques specifically to video data.
- Familiarity with transformer-based neural network architectures.
- Technical proficiency with SQL, Docker, REST APIs, and backend frameworks like Django or Flask.
- Experience managing distributed training or inference using cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Domain expertise related to wastewater infrastructure inspection.
Compensation
We offer competitive remuneration, which includes the potential for equity compensation. Our benefits package is designed to support your growth and success, featuring:
- A flexible hybrid work environment.
- A dedicated learning budget to cover books, conferences, and professional courses.
- Access to the tools and resources necessary to excel in your role.
How to apply
If you are passionate about solving real-world challenges through artificial intelligence and want to make a tangible impact on infrastructure management, we invite you to apply. We are an equal opportunity employer and look forward to reviewing your application.
