The opportunity
We are searching for a Principal Cloud Engineer to take ownership of our AWS infrastructure. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on solving complex infrastructure challenges and enjoys mentoring others. By joining our team, you will sit at the intersection of engineering and strategy, ensuring our technology stack remains at the cutting edge as we continue to support our growing customer base.
A day in the life
- You will lead the charge in automating our infrastructure using Terraform or CloudFormation to ensure our environment is consistent and reproducible.
- You will collaborate closely with our software and data engineering teams to optimize cloud architecture for massive data systems, ensuring everything from databases to data lakes runs smoothly.
- You will proactively manage our cloud footprint by implementing security best practices and identifying opportunities for cost optimization without sacrificing performance.
Who you are
You are a seasoned expert with at least 7 years of experience managing enterprise-grade AWS infrastructure. You possess a deep understanding of core services like EC2, S3, and Lambda, and you have a proven track record of designing multi-region architectures that can handle significant scale. You communicate clearly, whether you are discussing technical nuances with your engineering peers or explaining infrastructure goals to non-technical stakeholders. You are comfortable working in English and are authorized to work in the U.S. While not required, we would love to see AWS certifications or experience with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes on your resume.
Why you'll love it here
We believe that great work happens when people have the flexibility to thrive. We offer a fully remote work environment, allowing you to contribute from anywhere. Beyond the flexibility, you will be joining a team that has been repeatedly honored for its culture and commitment to work-life balance. We are an equal opportunity employer that values diverse perspectives, and we look forward to seeing the unique expertise you will bring to our mission.
