We are Qarik, an engineer-driven IT solutions firm co-founded by Google Cloud Engineering leaders. Focused exclusively on Google Cloud Platform, we have grown to 100 employees in under three years while earning the trust of numerous Fortune 1000 clients. Our approach is simple: we solve complex problems alongside our customers and then teach them to solve those problems themselves, rather than lingering long after the work is done.
About the Role
We are hiring a Principal Cloud Architect on a Full Time basis. In this position you will serve as a technical leader who guides large enterprises through the design and implementation of robust cloud foundations, helping them turn public-cloud migrations into genuine competitive advantages rather than routine infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the technical direction and day-to-day execution of client engagements, providing guidance and oversight to engineering teams throughout each project.
- Build trusted relationships with both technical teams and executive stakeholders, acting as a strategic partner who influences decisions and drives successful outcomes.
- Contribute to the firm’s overall technical strategy as a member of the core leadership group, shaping our point of view on emerging domains and ensuring consistent delivery of high-value solutions.
Requirements
- At least ten years of progressive technical experience in roles such as software engineering, DevOps, or system administration, with direct accountability for cloud architecture on GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Hands-on leadership in designing, delivering, and implementing production-grade public-cloud infrastructure and solutions.
- Client-facing experience within a professional-services or IT-solutions environment, including the ability to facilitate discussions with senior leadership on trade-offs, best practices, and risk mitigation.
- Practical experience managing the full application lifecycle for containerized workloads on Kubernetes, including build, test, and release practices supported by infrastructure-as-code and automation tooling.
- Strong sense of ownership, intellectual curiosity, humility, and a servant-leadership mindset, along with high personal ethics and the ability to lead by example.
- Cloud certifications or conference speaking engagements are viewed favorably but are not mandatory.
Location
This role is fully remote and open to candidates anywhere, provided you maintain reliable internet connectivity and can overlap with U.S. East Coast morning hours. The position involves approximately 25 percent travel, both within and outside the United States.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $200,000–$300,000, and you may also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within the range depends on individual skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable laws. In addition, we offer remote work with flexible hours, generous paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401k plan, professional-development support, and equity compensation.
