We are currently searching for a Principal AI Engineer to join our team remotely in the UK. As our first AI hire in this region, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our growth strategy while working alongside our established data engineering and sales teams to solve complex challenges in cloud migration, machine learning, and generative AI for our global customers.
What you'll be doing
- Lead the scoping, architectural design, and delivery of AI and machine learning projects, serving as the primary point of contact for our clients.
- Provide expert consultancy on machine learning and data science to technical teams, recommending solutions that leverage Databricks and native cloud features.
- Spearhead the development of generative AI and machine learning applications within the Databricks platform to drive measurable business impact.
What you'll bring
To succeed in this role, you should possess a strong technical foundation and a collaborative, client-focused mindset. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience as a Data Scientist with a focus on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- A proven track record of working with the Databricks ecosystem, including PySpark, SQL, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog.
- Deep understanding of Large Language Models and familiarity with their associated frameworks and libraries.
- Strong proficiency in Python and common data science libraries, along with experience in MLOps and data visualization.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- A background in consulting or a strong desire to engage directly with customers to gather requirements and design effective solutions.
- Fluency in English.
