The role

We are seeking a Principal AI Engineer to join our team in a full-time, executive-level capacity. This is a hybrid position that offers the flexibility to work from anywhere. As our most senior AI engineer, you will report directly to Miguel Alvarado and serve as a technical leader. You will be responsible for setting the standard for our AI initiatives, mentoring our engineering talent, and collaborating across departments to build the next generation of mental health tools.

Core responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of sophisticated AI agents and agentic patterns to enhance our mental health solutions.
• Develop and optimize LLM workflows, utilizing techniques like fine-tuning and in-context learning to ensure high performance.
• Establish robust AI/ML Ops practices and scalable infrastructure to support our cross-functional teams and product goals.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should possess an advanced degree in Computer Science, AI, or a related field, alongside a proven track record of leading AI projects at top-tier technology companies. We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

• Mastery of Python and deep experience with AI frameworks including TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras.
• Extensive knowledge of NLP, generative models, and AI infrastructure.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• A deep passion for innovation and a commitment to transforming the mental healthcare landscape.
• Bonus: Experience with low-level programming in C++ or Rust is considered a significant asset for optimizing system performance.

Compensation and benefits

The anticipated salary for this position is between $160,000 and $190,000 per year. We are committed to supporting our employees in all facets of their lives through a comprehensive benefits package, which includes:
