Are you ready to help redefine the future of aviation? At Enigma Aerospace, we are building the next generation of autonomous air cargo solutions designed to serve both military and commercial markets. By merging innovative fixed-wing aircraft designs with sophisticated flight autonomy software, we are enabling runway-independent resupply for the military and lowering costs for commercial logistics. As a venture-backed company founded by industry experts, we invite you to join our founding team at the ground level and help us tackle some of the most challenging problems in aerospace engineering.
What you bring
We are seeking a Principal Aerospace Engineer to join our team on a Full Time basis. This senior-level role is based on-site in the United States, where you will serve as a hands-on technical leader responsible for the architecture, development, and integration of our autonomous aircraft systems. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Leading the end-to-end design process for our aircraft and systems, taking projects from initial development through build, testing, and final delivery to our manufacturing team.
- Defining and tracking critical system-level design parameters to ensure performance and stability across all structural, avionics, and propulsion components.
- Establishing and managing strategic vendor relationships while ensuring that all subsystems function harmoniously through robust interface development and testing.
Requirements
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated professional with at least 10 years of technical experience in the aerospace or defense industry, specifically involving large fixed-wing unmanned or autonomous aircraft systems. You should hold an MS degree or higher in a relevant engineering field and possess a proven track record of leading aircraft designs from initial requirements through to manufacturing. We value individuals who are detail-oriented and possess deep expertise in UAS subsystems, systems integration, and government program development. You must be fluent in English and be prepared to travel up to 30% of the time. We are looking for someone who thrives in ambiguous environments, communicates ideas persuasively, and brings a proactive, can-do attitude to our collaborative workplace.
What we offer
We are committed to supporting our team members with a comprehensive benefits package designed to provide security and flexibility. Our offerings include:
- Medical and disability insurance coverage.
- A 401k plan with a company match.
- Unlimited vacation time.
- Flexible work location options and work from home policies.
- Stock options and a significant equity grant for this leadership position.
How to Apply
If you are an ambitious engineer with a passion for aviation and a desire to build groundbreaking technology, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your application to join our team as we work to transform the future of autonomous air cargo.
