We are looking for a motivated PR Associate to join our team on a full-time basis. At NerdWallet, we work to provide clarity for all of life’s financial decisions, and this role is essential to building our brand and increasing our share of voice across various financial categories. You will support our PR lead by executing strategies for our Consumer Credit, Wealth, and Small Business divisions. This is a hybrid position that can be based anywhere in the United States, as we believe great work can happen from anywhere.
Responsibilities
- Conduct deep research and analysis to stay ahead of the competitive media landscape and identify unique pitching opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media contacts to secure relevant coverage while managing the performance of your assigned business areas.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including spokespeople and content leads, to develop media materials and execute our broader public relations strategy.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience in public relations or communications, ideally within an agency or in-house environment.
- Strong expertise in media relations, including the ability to generate creative pitch ideas and prepare spokespeople for interviews.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, paired with an analytical mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- A solid understanding of the personal finance space and basic familiarity with SEO principles.
- Strong editing and proofreading skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
