We are a bootstrapped news media startup currently in the prototyping phase of our first product, a weekly podcast for the Asian American community called At the Moment. We are looking for an entrepreneurial individual who is passionate about creating inclusive work cultures from the ground up. As a member of our founding team, you will work directly with our co-founders to shape the talent and culture strategy for our organization.
What is this role?
This is a Senior level People and Culture Director position. It is a part-time role requiring 10 hours per week, and it is fully remote. Because we are in the early startup stages, this position is currently voluntary and equity-based until we complete our first round of funding.
What will you do?
- Manage the entire hiring lifecycle, from finding and vetting candidates to extending offers.
- Champion our social responsibility by identifying and removing barriers to inclusion and access while engaging the team in these efforts.
- Build the frameworks, tools, and feedback processes necessary for our team to thrive in a remote-first environment.
What makes you a great fit?
You should have a strong background in Human Resources and Management. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with Payroll and Benefits administration, as you will lead these functions once we secure funding. You must be fluent in English and ready to foster a non-hierarchical, positive team culture. If you have an entrepreneurial spirit and want to help build an Asian American company from the very beginning, you will be a great match for our mission.
