At Pair Team, we are on a mission to reshape how Medicaid supports the most underserved populations. As a tech-enabled medical group, we provide comprehensive care that addresses clinical, behavioral, and social needs by partnering with organizations deeply embedded in the communities we serve. We are building a powerful platform that uses AI and automation to scale human-centered care, and our work is already making a tangible difference, including significant reductions in hospital admissions and emergency department visits. We are one of the largest Enhanced Care Management providers in California, and we are working hard to build the nation’s largest clinically integrated network for high-need Medicaid members.

You will work closely with our People and Finance teams, as well as our external partners, to maintain compliance and improve our internal processes. This is a vital position for our growing company, and you will report directly to our People Operations Manager.
A day in the life
- You will manage the end-to-end payroll process for our nationwide team, including bi-weekly hourly payroll and semi-monthly salaried payroll, while ensuring all timecards are approved and accurate.
- You will oversee our benefits administration, which includes supporting enrollments, handling monthly billing, and acting as the primary point of contact for employee questions regarding their coverage.
- You will maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, register our company for new tax accounts as we expand, and conduct regular audits of payroll and benefits data to ensure everything is running smoothly.
Who you are
You are a detail-oriented professional with at least 2 years of experience managing complex, multi-state payroll and benefits programs. You have a solid grasp of employment laws, tax regulations, and leave administration. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and are proficient with Excel, Google Sheets, HRIS, and payroll software. Most importantly, you are a clear communicator who is passionate about our mission to support individuals facing complex health challenges.
