Shearer's is a premier contract manufacturer and private label provider in the North American snack industry. Based in Massillon, Ohio, we operate 17 state-of-the-art facilities across the United States and Canada, including a LEED platinum certified site. We are looking for a Senior Packaging Equipment Process Specialist to join our team in a hybrid capacity to help us maintain our high standards for quality snack production.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise for seasoning systems, weighing units, and vertical form, fill, and seal packaging machinery.
- Troubleshoot production bottlenecks and resolve issues related to materials, designs, or packaging processes.
- Implement continuous improvement and lean manufacturing methodologies to boost quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead the commercialization of new products while assisting in facility design and equipment implementation.
- Develop and document process control procedures to ensure product specifications are met.
- Coach and train production personnel, including site Subject Matter Experts, on equipment operation and safety.
- Build collaborative relationships across cross-functional teams to drive operational success.
- Travel to various plant locations as needed to provide hands-on support and technical guidance.
Must-haves
- At least 5 years of experience in a packaging-related field, including hands-on work with new and existing equipment.
- Proficiency with seasoning systems, multi-head weighers, conveyance systems, and packaging automation.
- Strong background in lean manufacturing tools like 5S, Total Production Maintenance, and Quick Changeover.
- Proven ability to apply critical thinking and systems analysis to solve complex production problems.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on coaching and developing team members.
- Fluency in English.

- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or science, or a 2-year technical degree in a related field.
