About the Role
We are hiring a Senior Operations Engineer for a full-time position. In this role, you will serve as a key member of our centralized operations team or embed directly within a development squad. Your primary focus will be on the deployment, maintenance, and monitoring of our complex infrastructure. You will play a vital role in ensuring our systems remain reliable while proactively identifying new initiatives to enhance our cloud environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain our global infrastructure, including over 100 AWS instances and a vast fleet of tens of thousands of Linux-based IoT devices.
- Collaborate with development squads to provide expert guidance on infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and platform improvements.
- Monitor system performance, respond to alerts to ensure maximum uptime, and investigate business processes to find innovative ways to improve our products.
Requirements
To succeed in this position, you should have extensive experience in operations or DevOps environments. We are looking for someone who possesses the following qualifications:
- Expertise in AWS and advanced containerization using Docker.
- Strong proficiency in Linux system and network administration, specifically with Ubuntu.
- Advanced scripting capabilities in Python and Bash.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as CloudFormation, and familiarity with configuration management tools.
- A solid understanding of monitoring and observability tools like SumoLogic and AWS CloudWatch.
- The ability to mentor junior team members, create technical documentation, and conduct formal training sessions.
- Experience working with a hybrid stack of microservices and serverless functions.
Location
This position is based in China and requires an on-site presence.
