What you'll be doing
- You will take the lead on architecting, building, and maintaining our core transport infrastructure while assisting with the implementation of our cutting edge access network design.
- You will serve as a subject matter expert, providing leadership to other engineers, handling escalated technical tickets, and ensuring all network policies and procedures are executed correctly.
- You will design and integrate new backbone hardware, manage vendor relationships for bug fixes and upgrades, and create detailed installation specifications for our field technicians.
What you'll bring
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong background in large-scale network operations and a passion for technical excellence. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience with major internet routing protocols and a proven track record in a senior or lead engineering capacity.
- Expert-level proficiency in BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, and OSPF.
- Extensive experience with major router platforms, specifically Nokia, Arista, or Juniper hardware.
- Strong knowledge of VoIP, including 3 years of experience with Asterisk, voice transport, and routing, as well as familiarity with Stir/Shaken protocols.
- Exceptional troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze complex network data to resolve security or performance issues.
- Fluency in English and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both team members and vendors.
