We are Seam, and we are building a unified platform that helps developers manage smart devices like locks, thermostats, and intercoms. Our tools are used by companies such as Airbnb, Zillow, and WeWork to simplify how smart building applications interact with various hardware brands. We are backed by prominent investors including Tiger Global and Root VC, as well as leaders from Stripe, Plaid, and Airbnb, and we are looking for a Senior Mobile SDK Platform Engineer to join our team in a hybrid capacity within the United States.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain robust Android or iOS SDKs that interface with BLE and NFC technologies.
- Enable seamless IoT connectivity across a wide range of mobile devices.
- Contribute to the optimization of our core API by working with Node.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL.
- Partner with engineers, product managers, and designers to define project requirements and deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Lead testing initiatives to ensure high code quality, reliability, and performance.
- Create comprehensive documentation and tutorials to improve the experience for developers using our platform.
Must-haves
- At least 4 years of professional experience in mobile development.
- Expertise in building native applications for iOS or Android using Swift or Kotlin.
- Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, and SQL.
- Strong background in mobile SDK development, including build pipelines and CI/CD processes.
- Experience with backend testing methodologies, such as unit, integration, and API testing.
- A proven track record of improving development workflows and team productivity.
- The ability to work from our office at least 50% of the time in San Francisco.
Nice-to-haves
- Hands-on experience working with BLE and NFC technologies on mobile platforms.
- Previous experience working in growth-stage or large-scale company environments.
- A strong interest in IoT, hardware integration, or similar physical-world automation technologies.
