We are looking for a Senior ML Data Engineer to join our team and help Mamo navigate the evolving fintech landscape. Our mission is to drive financial inclusion by building accessible, meaningful experiences, and you will play a key role in shaping our product roadmap and business strategy through data-driven insights.
Responsibilities
- Analyze complex structured and unstructured datasets using statistical and machine learning techniques to solve business challenges.
- Partner with product, marketing, and compliance teams to provide actionable insights that guide our strategic direction.
- Design and maintain data models, automated reporting frameworks, and performance metrics to monitor our success.
- Manage the full lifecycle of machine learning projects, from initial data exploration and model training to production implementation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define data collection requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Present your findings and the business impact of your work to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Must-haves
- Over 5 years of professional experience working with recommendation systems and data analysis tools.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python, including libraries such as pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, and scikit-learn.
- Hands-on experience with Looker Studio or similar data visualization platforms.
- Proven ability to develop production-grade ML systems, including feature engineering, model selection, and data pipeline creation.
- Strong knowledge of AI frameworks and tools, ranging from GenAI solution builders like LangChain to ML platforms such as Vertex AI or SageMaker.
- A self-motivated approach with the ability to solve vague, high-level problems independently.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to transparent documentation and knowledge sharing.
Nice-to-haves
- Professional background in Fintech, payments, risk, fraud detection, or e-commerce.
- Practical experience with GCP services, specifically BigQuery and Looker.
