We are Nova Credit, and we are on a mission to build a more fair and inclusive financial system for everyone. By creating better credit infrastructure, analytics, and workflows, we help people access credit opportunities they might otherwise be denied. Our products, such as Credit Passport, Cash Atlas, and Income Navigator, are trusted by major organizations like American Express, SoFi, and HSBC. We are currently looking for a Mid/Senior Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a remote position, and we welcome applicants located anywhere in the contiguous U.S. to help us revolutionize the lending industry.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of developing high-impact features and improvements for our API integration platform, which serves as the backbone for our cash flow products.
- Integrate new consumer-permissioned data APIs into our existing systems to expand our capabilities.
- Enhance our observability frameworks to better monitor API integrations and data ingestion for both our internal teams and our customers.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working with external APIs and related protocols, including OAuth, JWT, and webhooks.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL, including experience with schema design, complex queries, and indexing.
- Proven experience building web systems using Express.js.
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana, Kibana, or Datadog.
- The ability to design performant, scalable solutions within AWS while clearly communicating your technical tradeoffs.
- A solid understanding of software testing methodologies and a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
