What you bring
We are seeking a Mid-Level Backend Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Building, iterating, and scaling the Ruby on Rails backend services that power our mobile applications.
- Owning and evolving our CI/CD pipelines across both backend and mobile platforms to ensure seamless delivery.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve development workflows, monitor system performance, and participate in architectural discussions.
Requirements
The ideal candidate possesses at least three years of experience in an agile software development environment. We are looking for someone with strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails and a solid understanding of API design, cloud platforms, and container orchestration. You should be a clear communicator who values documentation and has a track record of owning critical software delivery platforms. We value candidates who are detail-oriented, capable of working independently, and eager to mentor others in best practices. While not required, experience working with government entities, particularly the Department of Veterans Affairs, is highly preferred. Proficiency in English is required for this role.
