Tucked away in the vibrant Dogpatch neighborhood of San Francisco, our team is working right next to UCSF Mission Bay to change the future of medicine. We are a well-funded startup that has built a proprietary, ultrahigh throughput single cell platform. By profiling the immune system, we are uncovering new targets for immunotherapy and pushing the boundaries of what is possible in biotechnology. We are currently looking for a passionate Microfluidics Engineer to join our interdisciplinary team and help us accelerate this mission.
The opportunity
As a key member of our engineering group, you will take ownership of independent projects that directly impact our platform's capabilities. You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your expertise in microfluidics and single cell manipulation will be vital. We value individuals who can adapt quickly, communicate clearly, and bring a sense of excellence to every task. This role is perfect for someone who wants to be part of an exciting journey, working alongside other talented engineers to solve complex biological challenges.
A day in the life
- You will design, fabricate, and rigorously test droplet-based microfluidic devices to support our diverse research applications.
- You will lead our microfabrication efforts, utilizing techniques such as soft lithography, photolithography, etching, and bonding to create high-quality components.
- You will collaborate across departments to integrate your microfluidic devices into our larger systems, ensuring that everything works together seamlessly.
Who you are
You are a skilled engineer with a background in fields like Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Bioengineering. You have at least two years of hands-on experience in microfluidics, specifically with single cell manipulations and sequencing. You are comfortable working in a cleanroom environment and possess a strong technical toolkit that includes CAD software like Solidworks, as well as programming and simulation tools such as Python, MATLAB, or COMSOL. Above all, you are a team player who thrives on solving problems and delivering high-quality results in a startup setting. Proficiency in English is essential for our collaborative work environment.
Why you'll love it here
We are committed to supporting our team members both professionally and personally. We offer a competitive salary range of $75,000 to $95,000, complemented by equity and performance bonuses. Our comprehensive benefits package is designed to provide peace of mind and daily support, including:
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance with 100% of premiums covered.
- Life insurance and a 401k plan with company match.
