General Summary
The Media Systems Engineering Technician works closely with other members of the Media Systems Engineering Team to provide audio and visual technical support and installations throughout the studio. This position needs to become familiar with the current technologies in use at the studio and gain detailed knowledge of how they work in order to support all departments.
Job Functions
- Deliver, install, and set up audio/video equipment in various locations throughout the studio, support our theaters and editorial suites, and maintain conference rooms.
- Set, strike, and operate AV equipment for company events.
- Maintain and troubleshoot AV equipment.
- Calibrate video monitors and projectors.
- Provide training to colleagues on using AV equipment and video conferencing systems.
- Work with the Facilities Department on equipment moves and installs.
- Keep an inventory of tools, cables, and spare parts.
- Maintain and upgrade various software systems.
- Maintain tidy department workspaces.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience in troubleshooting and providing support for AV equipment in a professional setting.
- Experience with Mac, Windows, and Linux operating systems.
- Experience with AV editing software packages.
- Familiarity with new and trending technologies in audio and video.
- Experience with computer networking.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work under time constraints.
- Light scripting and coding experience preferred.
