We are looking for a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our team at VEGA Americas. For over 60 years, we have manufactured and serviced process instrumentation for measuring level, density, weight, and pressure, and we take pride in our six-year streak as a Cincinnati Enquirer Top Workplace.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and create blueprints, technical drawings, and bills of materials.
- Mentor team members and provide guidance on technical and procedural questions.
- Manage project timelines by coordinating tasks and resolving open issues.
- Oversee manufacturing and installation processes to ensure they meet customer requirements and functional specifications.
- Lead designers and drafters on various project teams.
- Define product requirements by collaborating with sales, product managers, and design engineers.
- Test and evaluate prototype components and assemblies.
- Design testing methods to confirm product quality, including analyzing the effects of temperature, pressure, vibration, and radiation.
- Apply your knowledge of mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials to solve complex engineering problems.
- Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 procedures and work instructions.
Must-haves
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
- At least 3 years of practical, hands-on experience.
- Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis, Statistical Analysis, FMEA, DOE, and GD&T.
- Strong skills in Project Management and design for manufacturing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
