Mechanical Engineer at AM Batteries

We are AM Batteries, and we are currently working to redefine the future of energy storage. Our team is dedicated to industrializing next-generation lithium-ion battery manufacturing technologies, with the goal of becoming the premier turn-key equipment provider for battery cell manufacturers worldwide. We are looking for a talented and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team on a full-time, on-site basis here in the United States. What you'll be doing

• You will design and draft the next generation of our electrode manufacturing equipment, creating robust 3D models and 2D drawings that adhere to ASME Y14.5 standards.
• You will take ownership of our CAD file and documentation management systems, ensuring that our release and change processes remain efficient and accurate.
• You will oversee the fabrication of your designs by working closely with external machine shops and using your own hands-on skills with shop tools to build prototypes and R&D components.

What you'll bring

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in mechanical engineering and a desire to work in a collaborative, problem-solving environment. We are looking for the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with a Master’s degree preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in an established engineering and design environment, ideally with a background in roll-to-roll manufacturing.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software, such as Inventor, Solidworks, or Creo.
• A solid understanding of document management, including experience with Engineering Change Orders and Notices.
• Expertise in design principles like GD&T, tolerance analysis, and Design for Manufacturing.
• Practical shop skills, including the ability to use drill presses, band saws, and other hand tools for assembly and prototyping.
• Fluency in English to ensure clear communication across our team.
