At miDiagnostics, we are changing the landscape of cell therapy testing and release. Our team develops rapid, real-time PCR-based sterility tests that bring quality control directly to the patient. We are currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join us on a full-time, on-site basis in Belgium. If you are someone who enjoys sketching out new concepts and refining precision assemblies in CAD, you will fit right in with our multidisciplinary team where engineering, biology, and microfluidics intersect.
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize the mechanical systems for our diagnostic platforms, which includes developing mechanisms, assemblies, and enclosures.
- Establish material specifications, tolerances, and critical-to-quality parameters to ensure every design is both reliable and manufacturable.
- Manage the full product lifecycle from initial prototyping and testing to iterative improvements and the transition into scalable production.
Requirements
- A Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Between 3 and 5 years of experience in product development, ideally within the medical device, diagnostics, or laboratory instrumentation sectors.
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks and 3D CAD design.
- Demonstrated experience working with precision components, complex assemblies, and moving parts.
- Strong analytical abilities and a structured, detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a cross-functional team environment.
- Familiarity with ISO 13485 or other relevant medical device regulatory standards is considered a significant advantage.
What we offer
We provide the opportunity to work on meaningful, tangible solutions that redefine personalized medicine. You will be part of a collaborative environment where your technical expertise directly contributes to bringing safer and faster diagnostic tools to patients.
