At Fourier, we are dedicated to making on-site hydrogen production universally accessible. Our team has developed a breakthrough architecture that features highly modular and fully automated electrolyzers, which scale easily and maintain peak efficiency across all loads. We are driven by a mission to transition the global energy landscape toward a sustainable, emission-free future, and we would love for you to join us in this effort as a Senior Mechanical Engineer for our Thermal and Fluid Systems team.
What you'll be doing
- You will design and validate advanced air and liquid cooling technologies to ensure the effective thermal management of our electrolyzer stacks and electrical components.
- You will take ownership of the entire development cycle, from creating process flow diagrams and P&IDs to overseeing the assembly of prototypes and final production units.
- You will develop comprehensive test plans and lead validation activities in the lab to ensure the safety and performance of our fluid and thermal systems.
What you'll bring
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong foundation in mechanical engineering and a passion for hands-on problem solving. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, supported by at least 5 years of professional experience.
- A deep understanding of first-principles physics, specifically regarding thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software, including experience with GD&T and creating detailed technical drawings.
- Proven experience taking complex mechanical designs from the initial concept phase all the way through to full-scale production.
- Strong familiarity with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly principles, as well as cost optimization strategies.
- Fluency in English and the ability to work on-site in the United States.
- Bonus points if you hold an advanced degree or have specific experience with hydrogen systems, CFD analysis, or FMEA processes.
What you'll get
We believe in supporting our team members both professionally and personally. When you join Fourier, you will receive the following benefits:
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
- Equity compensation to ensure you share in our long-term success.
- A 401k retirement plan.
- Generous paid time off for vacations and sick leave.
- Complimentary on-site lunches to keep you fueled throughout the day.
