We are Clean Crop Technologies, a fast-paced startup in Holyoke, MA, that uses cold plasma to remove pathogens from seeds before planting, boosting yields and food safety for the agriculture industry.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Product Development team to design, machine, 3D print, and assemble mechanical components for prototype and production equipment.
- Lead the design and integration of critical subassemblies such as material handling, thermal management, plasma treatment, and process control systems.
- Manage the mechanical side of internal and external equipment builds, including BOM development, vendor coordination, and procurement.
- Support assembly, commissioning, debugging, and site acceptance testing of production equipment.
- Develop technical documentation to assist Operations and Business Development teams.
- Plan and run independent research projects focused on subassembly optimization and new product ideas.
- Design and perform analytical and instrumented testing of prototypes and hardware.
- Create test procedures that confirm device functionality and process requirements.
- Help maintain a safe, organized, and continuously improving workshop and fabrication space.
Must-haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or Physics.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience, with demonstrated project-lead capabilities.
- Strong proficiency in CAD/CAM software such as Inventor, Fusion 360, or SolidWorks.
- Hands-on experience designing, manufacturing, and testing mechanical systems, plus solid problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with document, spreadsheet, and presentation tools (MS Office or Google Workspace) and able to communicate technical information clearly to peers and leadership.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while remaining goal-oriented and collaborative.
- English fluency.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with electrical, electro-mechanical, or control subsystems.
- Familiarity with 3D printing and prototyping workflows.
- Background in vendor management and technical documentation.
