Mechanical Engineer - Product Development at Clean Crop Technologies, Inc.

At Clean Crop Technologies, we stop crop loss before it begins by removing pathogens from seeds with our Clean Current cold plasma process. Our technology uses electricity and food-grade gases to create a dry, automated, residue-free treatment that boosts yields, cuts waste, and strengthens food safety. We are a fast-moving startup in Holyoke, MA, and we are looking for a hands-on mechanical engineer who wants to shape the next generation of our prototype and production equipment.

What you'll be doing

• Work side-by-side with the Product Development team to design, machine, 3D print, and assemble critical components that go into both prototype and production machines.
• Lead the mechanical design and integration of key subassemblies such as material handling, thermal management, plasma treatment, and process control systems, while also supporting electrical and electro-mechanical elements.
• Manage the mechanical side of internal and external builds, including vendor coordination, BOM development, procurement, technical documentation, and on-site commissioning and testing.

What you'll bring

You hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or Physics, and you have at least three to five years of relevant experience, ideally with some project-lead responsibility. You are fluent in at least one major CAD/CAM package-Inventor, Fusion 360, or SolidWorks-and you can move comfortably from concept to finished part. You bring proven skill in designing, building, and testing mechanical systems, along with strong problem-solving instincts and the ability to meet precise specifications. You are comfortable with everyday office tools such as spreadsheets, documents, and presentations, and you can clearly communicate technical information to teammates and leadership. You thrive in a fast-paced startup setting, juggle multiple priorities without losing focus, and approach challenges with curiosity, creativity, and a collaborative mindset. English fluency is required for this on-site role in Holyoke, MA.
