At DCS, we have been crafting custom material handling and warehouse solutions since 1982. We do not believe in off-the-shelf products. Instead, we focus on building deep relationships with our clients to design systems that perfectly fit their unique operational needs. Our Operations Engineering team is the heart of this mission, serving as the bridge from the initial contract all the way through to final commissioning. We are a group that values creativity and sharp problem-solving, and we are looking for someone who shares our passion for getting things done while working in a collaborative, family-like environment.
The opportunity
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Distribution and Fulfillment team. In this role, you will apply your technical expertise to detail every aspect of our material handling systems. You will act as a key contributor to our project teams, creating the vital drawing sets that guide our customers, building officials, and installation partners. This is a full-time, hybrid position that offers you the chance to see your designs come to life from the initial concept to the finished, operational floor.
A day in the life
- You will translate customer specifications into detailed mechanical installation drawings and comprehensive Bills of Material.
- You will collaborate with vendors and project stakeholders to review equipment designs, ensure compliance with requirements, and verify critical calculations like horsepower and throughput.
- You will visit job sites to verify field conditions and maintain project schedules by coordinating closely with our Project Engineers.
Who you are
You are a mid-level professional with a background in engineering and a sharp eye for detail. We are looking for someone who thrives when managing multiple projects and values team success above all else. Your toolkit should include:
- A degree in a technical discipline such as Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Four to six years of hands-on experience within the distribution and fulfillment industry.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office suite.
- A deep understanding of drafting and design standards.
- Excellent written communication skills and a natural ability to solve complex problems.
- Fluency in English.
Why you'll love it here
We work hard to foster a culture that is both focused and fun. We believe in providing our team with the autonomy they need to succeed and the support to grow. When you join us, you can look forward to:
- A 401k program that includes a 100% match up to 5%.
- Participation in our discretionary profit sharing program.
- A flexible work environment that supports hybrid and remote work arrangements.
- Flexible hours to help you maintain a healthy work-life balance.
- A casual, welcoming office culture that includes community outreach and regular team events.
