Join our dynamic team at BitMEX, where we're committed to lead the virtual asset industry's compliance standards. As a vital member of our team, you'll collaborate closely with the Head of Market Surveillance to propel our compliance program towards this ambitious vision. 

Your primary focus will involve investigation of market abuse alerts, escalating and reporting on a global scale. By actively contributing to the implementation and enhancement of our AML and Trade Surveillance compliance initiatives, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our operations adhere to regulatory standards. Your responsibilities will span from daily transaction monitoring to conducting in-depth investigations and producing comprehensive reports. Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the implementation and maturity of the selected AML / Trade Surveillance transaction monitoring system, Operating Level Agreement, and procedures
• Actively review market surveillance alerts as per defined procedures, and remediate accordingly 
• Perform customer outreach as part of investigation process as required 
• Escalate alerts to Head of Market Surveillance in case of suspicious activity
• Perform initial investigation alerts demonstrating characteristics of unusual behaviour
• Prepare unusual activity reports for activity requiring further investigation by the internal FIU
• Produce weekly / monthly statistics and analysis for reporting to management

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of financial markets, in particular derivatives trading
• At least 2 years of trade surveillance experience. If not then at least 3 years of AML transaction monitoring experience in a crypto exchange
• Demonstrable financial crime investigative skills, with experience of uncovering patterns of suspicious behaviour
• Demonstrable ability to operate under own initiative
• Exposure to global markets
• Proficient in written and spoken English
• Demonstrable interest in virtual asset financial services
• Desirable

• Compliance qualification (e.g. ICA Diploma / ACAMS)
• Exposure to blockchain transaction analytics monitoring
• Knowledge of data manipulation / extraction / presentation techniques such as SQL queries and Tableau
