At Orca Bio, we are dedicated to transforming the lives of the more than one million people in the United States currently battling blood cancer. We are a late-stage biotechnology company focused on developing high-precision, investigational cell therapies. Our mission is to replace damaged immune systems with healthy ones, providing patients with significantly better survival rates and fewer complications compared to traditional transplant methods. We operate with a spirit of urgency, integrity, and courage, constantly challenging the status quo to bring life-saving innovations to those who need them most.
The role
We are looking for a Market Development Lead to join our commercial organization in a full-time, executive-level capacity. This is a senior, field-based position that serves as a critical extension of our marketing team. You will be responsible for driving our commercial strategy, engaging with key opinion leaders, and managing the onboarding of centers of excellence as we prepare for the launch of our therapies. This role is remote, though you must be located within your assigned territory and should expect approximately 50% travel.
Core responsibilities
- KOL Engagement: Design and implement comprehensive strategies for engaging key opinion leaders, ensuring our messaging is aligned with clinical needs and gathering vital feedback to refine our brand positioning.
- Commercial Onboarding: Lead the profiling and internal onboarding of priority centers of excellence, acting as the primary external point of contact to facilitate smooth transitions and manage trade agreements.
- Strategic Brand Development: Oversee the promotional physician speaker bureau, manage regional marketing budgets, and integrate field insights into our broader brand strategy and regional congress activities.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- At least 10 years of relevant professional experience, supported by a BA or BS degree, though an advanced degree such as an MA, MBA, or PharmD is preferred.
- Extensive background in hematology, oncology, or bone marrow transplant sales and marketing, including direct field-based marketing experience.
- Clinical fluency in leukemia or bone marrow transplantation and proven experience working with academic medical centers.
- Direct experience managing product launches and working in a cross-functional environment.
- Preferred candidates will have previous experience in small biotechnology settings, particularly those transitioning from clinical stages to commercialization, or experience in immune-oncology cell therapy.
Compensation and benefits
We are committed to supporting our team members through a flexible work environment. This position offers the benefit of remote work, allowing you to effectively manage your territory while contributing to our mission-driven culture.
How to apply
If you are passionate about advancing cell therapy and have the strategic expertise to help us bring our innovations to patients, we invite you to apply. Please reach out to our talent team to express your interest and share your background. We look forward to reviewing your application and discussing how your experience aligns with our goal of restoring lives through science.
