About the Role

We are looking for a Manager, Software Engineering to join us in a full-time capacity. In this role, you will lead a software development team tasked with building world-class, service-oriented architecture for our ordering platforms. You will move beyond simple coding to drive meaningful change within the background screening industry, ensuring our systems can scale to meet our rapid business growth. This position offers the chance to influence the entire software development lifecycle while fostering a culture of innovation and proactive problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a diverse project team, making critical technical decisions that align with our broader strategic business objectives.
• Partner closely with product owners and stakeholders to design product roadmaps that address complex business challenges and unlock new market opportunities.
• Drive the continuous improvement of our software development practices while actively identifying and reducing technical debt to keep our systems sustainable.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should possess a strong technical background and proven leadership experience. We are looking for the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in a managerial role with a track record of mentoring and leading software teams.
• Deep expertise in Java, alongside full-stack proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and frameworks like Angular or React.
• Familiarity with SOAP, REST, SOA, XML, and JSON.
• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, as well as database systems like SQL Server, MySQL, and MongoDB.
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools like Jenkins and a solid understanding of web security protocols including SAML SSO, OAuth, and OIDC.
• Strong knowledge of Agile or SCRUM methodologies.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
