The opportunity

As a Manager, Software Engineer - Backend, you will be a vital part of our engineering team, working both independently and collaboratively to deliver high-quality features for our platform. You will lead, mentor, and train a team of developers as they build and maintain components of our JEE-based platform. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys balancing technical leadership with people management, ensuring that our software remains secure, scalable, and aligned with our architectural goals. You will act as a bridge between technical execution and business requirements, helping us continue to provide the intelligent, autonomous solutions our clients rely on.

A day in the life

• Lead your Scrum team through agile ceremonies and stand-ups while ensuring everyone stays aligned with sprint and release goals.
• Provide hands-on mentorship to your engineers by conducting regular one-on-one check-ins, setting performance expectations, and supporting their individual career growth.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to translate complex business needs into clear technical requirements, guiding the design and development of robust platform enhancements.

Who you are

You are an experienced leader with a passion for building high-quality, secure software. You communicate effectively in English and thrive in a remote, collaborative environment. Your background includes:

• Over 8 years of experience in commercial software development, with at least 4 years spent leading development teams.
• Extensive technical expertise in Java, JEE, and building applications on SQL databases.
• Proven experience with micro services architectures, cloud-based web applications, and SaaS environments.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD practices and architectural patterns.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• A proactive, can-do attitude combined with the ability to make sound, data-driven decisions.
