We are Wealthsimple, the largest fintech company in Canada, and we are on a mission to make financial freedom accessible to everyone. With over 4 million users and more than $50 billion in assets, we use smart technology to make financial services transparent and affordable. We are currently looking for a Software Development Manager to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. In this role, you will lead a group of 4 to 6 developers, working alongside our product, design, and data teams to ship high-quality solutions that help our users manage their money effectively.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with your product counterpart to define a strategic vision and build a clear roadmap for your team.
Provide hands-on leadership to guide your developers, ensuring that we maintain a high bar for quality and speed.
Support the growth of your team members by identifying development opportunities and fostering a strong, inclusive engineering culture.

Requirements

Proven experience managing software development teams.
A track record of delivering well-designed, thoroughly tested software.
Experience working in a high-growth environment or the consumer fintech space.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with product, design, and data partners.
Familiarity with our technology stack, which includes Kotlin, Java, Ruby on Rails, GraphQL with Apollo, Kafka, TypeScript, and ReactJS.
