We are Wealthsimple, the largest fintech company in Canada, and we are on a mission to make financial freedom accessible to everyone. With over 4 million users and more than $50 billion in assets, we use smart technology to make financial services transparent and affordable. We are currently looking for a Software Development Manager to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. In this role, you will lead a group of 4 to 6 developers, working alongside our product, design, and data teams to ship high-quality solutions that help our users manage their money effectively.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with your product counterpart to define a strategic vision and build a clear roadmap for your team.
- Provide hands-on leadership to guide your developers, ensuring that we maintain a high bar for quality and speed.
- Support the growth of your team members by identifying development opportunities and fostering a strong, inclusive engineering culture.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing software development teams.
- A track record of delivering well-designed, thoroughly tested software.
- Experience working in a high-growth environment or the consumer fintech space.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with product, design, and data partners.
- Familiarity with our technology stack, which includes Kotlin, Java, Ruby on Rails, GraphQL with Apollo, Kafka, TypeScript, and ReactJS.
