Manager, Software Development Engineer in Test at Evidation

We are currently looking for an enterprising Manager of Software Development Engineering in Test to join our remote-first team. In this role, you will lead our efforts to standardize test automation, acting as a bridge between high-level strategy and hands-on technical execution. We view our automation team as software engineers first, and we are seeking a leader who is passionate about building robust, high-quality products.

Key outcomes

• Take full ownership of the quality and test automation architecture across the entire organization.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of SDETs, fostering a culture of continuous learning and high performance.
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to influence automation strategy and manage relationships with external resources.
• Direct the development of our automation roadmap and lead scrum sessions to track progress and celebrate team milestones.
• Maintain a hands-on presence by contributing to the coding, troubleshooting, and execution of automation frameworks.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 8 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on test automation for enterprise and consumer applications.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role managing SDET teams.
• Expertise in automation methodologies and tools, with proficiency in at least one language such as Ruby or JavaScript.
• Significant experience developing solutions for mobile, browser, API, and cloud-based environments.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote work environment.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with test automation for data-driven applications.
• Familiarity with OWASP security standards and ISO/SOC2 compliance requirements.

Compensation

The base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000 to $174,000. In addition to the base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
