About the Role
We are seeking a Manager, Robotics Software Engineering to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. In this leadership position, you will be responsible for coaching and developing our software engineers to ensure we deliver high-quality, high-performance products. We are looking for a technical leader who can inspire innovation, foster a collaborative culture, and help us navigate the complexities of building groundbreaking autonomous systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full recruitment lifecycle for the robotics software team, including identifying talent gaps, managing interview panels, and making informed hiring decisions.
- Provide dedicated support to your team members through regular check-ins to ensure they have manageable workloads and the resources necessary to succeed.
- Foster a high-performance environment by implementing human-centric leadership practices that help individuals meet their professional goals while maintaining rigorous coding standards.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in technical management and software development. We look for candidates who possess the following:
- Proven experience managing software teams that include both senior and junior engineers working on real-world products.
- The ability to effectively represent engineering interests to non-technical stakeholders.
- Expertise in building teams through active hiring, training, and development.
- Strong proficiency in software development languages, specifically static or compiled languages like C++ and Rust, as well as dynamic scripting languages like Python.
- A solid grasp of mathematical concepts, including linear algebra, geometry, graph theory, probability, and statistics.
- Experience with ROS, real-time software for mobile robots, and relational databases such as Postgres or SQLite is highly valued.
