The opportunity

We are looking for a driven Manager of Platform Engineering to lead a small, talented group of engineers in defining the future of our infrastructure and DevOps practices. In this pivotal role, you will report to the Sr. Director of Engineering and act as a key architect for our scalable, secure systems. We believe in a balanced approach, so you can expect to spend about 60% of your time on hands-on technical execution and 40% on team leadership, vision, and goal setting. You will play a vital role in ensuring our platform supports rapid innovation while maintaining the reliability and security required to support thousands of solar sites across the country.

A day in the life

• Technical Leadership and Architecture: You will drive the vision for our platform, designing cloud-based environments that prioritize automation, reliability, and scalability.
• Developer Enablement: You will work hands-on to build and refine tools that improve software delivery, deployment efficiency, and system observability.
• Mentorship and Collaboration: You will partner with various engineering teams to troubleshoot complex challenges, guide implementation, and mentor junior engineers to foster their professional growth.

Who you are

You are a leader who thrives in an environment where you can both guide a team and contribute directly to the engineering work. You lead by example, take full ownership of your projects, and enjoy working in a dynamic, highly collaborative setting. To be successful in this role, you should bring the following expertise:

• At least 3 years of experience managing engineering teams, ideally within an infrastructure context.
• At least 8 years of experience focused on SRE principles and operational excellence.
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms like AWS and modern DevOps practices.
• Deep expertise in Infrastructure as Code, specifically with tools like Terraform.
• Proficiency in Kubernetes, containerization, and orchestration technologies.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD workflows and deployment strategies.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and inspire your team.
• Fluency in English.
