What is this role?

We are seeking a Manager, Mechanical Engineering to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in Everett, Washington. This is a management-level position where you will oversee the hardware design for our fusion devices. You will play a critical role in shaping our engineering culture, reporting directly to our Senior Manager of Engineering while driving the technical innovations necessary to reach our milestones.

What will you do?

• Lead, grow, and mentor a multidisciplinary team of mechanical engineers to foster technical excellence and career development.
• Oversee the design and development of machine architecture, including high-performance magnets, vacuum systems, fuel systems, and thermal management.
• Manage complex engineering projects by optimizing schedules, improving manufacturing processes, and collaborating across departments like research, science, and electrical systems.

• A bachelor's degree in engineering with at least 5 years of professional experience, including 2 years in an engineering management role.
• A proven track record of growing engineering talent and managing the career progression of direct reports.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex, high-stakes engineering projects with strict schedule ownership.
• Hands-on experience across various engineering disciplines, such as mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems.
• Fluency in English and the ability to apply methodical, logical problem-solving to unique technical challenges.
