As a Manager/Director of Software Engineering at Seyond, you will act as the domain expert as well as the team lead of the Software Engineering team and partner closely with marketing, business development, and other engineering teams to provide the cutting-edge software solutions to our customers and solve the real-world problems. This role requires a thorough understanding of lidar technology, strong communication skills, and great leadership skills. 

How will you make an impact?

• Manage the development lifecycle of software products
• Research new technologies to define the next generation of software products and provide technical guidance to the team 
• Create and implement software products and applications
• Plan, direct and coordinate the actions of the development team
• Act as a liaison between your team and senior leadership 
• Analyze & understand software requirements for new system features for which the team is responsible.
• Oversee the software engineering process to ensure delivery of high-quality software within time and budget.
• Work with customers to troubleshoot and solve problems.
• Provide technical & management oversight of code implementation including design and code reviews.
• Monitor progress, take corrective action as needed, and report status to product management and project management.
• Provide career coaching and feedback to employees to help them expand and deepen their skills.

What qualifications and skills will make you succeed in this role?

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, systems engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
• A minimum of seven years of hands-on experience in software development, demonstrating a strong foundation in software creation and system architecture.
• At least three years of functional management experience, with proven capabilities in managing, mentoring, and guiding software engineering teams towards successful project completions.
• Exceptional software project management skills, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget while maintaining high standards of quality.
• Expertise in programming and debugging. Proficient in programming languages, notably C++ and Python, with a strong ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Familiarity with Docker and deep learning technologies will be considered a significant asset.
• Experience with perception algorithms, particularly those related to 3D point cloud technologies is a plus.
• Knowledge of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) is a plus.
• Solid critical-thinking and decision-making skills.
• Proficient in finding creative solutions to complex problems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

This role is located in Sunnyvale, CA. Candidate must live in/near Sunnyvale, CA.

What is the Pay Range?

$180,000-$250,000

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, annual base salary for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Seyond. We also offer an annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for equity (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus). In addition, our highly competitive benefits package is designed to support your success.
