The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art stands as one of the largest institutions for modern and contemporary art in the United States. We serve as a vibrant cultural hub for the Bay Area, driven by the belief that art connects us and inspires new ways of thinking. Our team is guided by values of inclusivity, passion, bravery, and empathy, and we strive to foster an environment where every individual feels they belong. We are currently looking for a curious and motivated student to join our IT team and help us support the technology that keeps our museum running.
What is this role?
We are seeking a Management Information Systems Intern to join our team for a nine-week program running from June 15 to August 14. This is a full-time, 35-hour-per-week position designed for a current student or a recent graduate who has finished their studies within the last six months. You will work in a hybrid capacity, gaining hands-on experience in an enterprise environment while supporting the technology infrastructure that powers our museum.
What will you do?
- Assist with the organization and modernization of our Microsoft Active Directory enterprise environment.
- Support the creation and deployment of PC images using Intune, SCCM, and Group Policy.
- Help improve our Jamf platform for Apple device management and aid in the deployment of a remote monitoring and management platform for our servers and endpoints.
What makes you a great fit?
You are a student or recent graduate eager to gain real-world experience in IT infrastructure. We are looking for someone with strong customer service skills who can help our staff troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues. You should be comfortable working with or learning about technologies like Active Directory, SCCM, Intune, and Jamf. Most importantly, you bring a curious mindset and a desire to learn how technology supports a major cultural institution.
What's in it for you?
Beyond the opportunity to work in a world-class museum, this internship offers a structured program that includes mentorship, weekly presentations, and discussions with various museum departments. You will also have the chance to participate in off-site educational visits and access exclusive museum tours and events. This role provides the following benefit:
- Hybrid work flexibility.
