At Sharpsmart, we provide essential waste management services to the healthcare industry across the United Kingdom. Our team is currently looking for a dedicated Regional Maintenance Technician to support our facilities in Normanton and Spennymoor. You will play a vital role in our Engineering and Operations department, ensuring that our critical machinery functions at full capacity so we can continue our important work for the healthcare sector.
About the Role
This is a full time, on-site position for a mid-level professional. You will be responsible for the upkeep and repair of our onsite equipment and site infrastructure. Because this role covers two locations, you will travel to Spennymoor weekly using a company pool van. You will work closely with our broader engineering team, receiving guidance and support as you manage the daily technical requirements of our plants.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform both reactive and proactive repairs on critical machinery and site buildings, ensuring all work is documented within Maintainx.
- Manage boiler and plumbing systems, including routine maintenance and water treatment tasks.
- Conduct regular audits, complete microbiological testing, and ensure all work orders are closed out in a timely manner.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- At least 2 years of experience in a comparable maintenance position.
- A multi-skilled background with a self-motivated approach to problem-solving.
- Strong IT literacy, including proficiency in Excel and the ability to navigate bespoke internal systems.
- A full, clean driving license and the flexibility to travel between our sites.
Location
This role is based in the United Kingdom, with primary responsibilities split between our Normanton and Spennymoor facilities.
