We are looking for a dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis in the Elk Valley, British Columbia. In this role, you will report to the Senior Maintenance Engineer for Water Operations and take a lead role in developing reliability strategies for our water treatment facilities. This work is a vital part of our commitment to the Elk Valley Water Quality Plan, and you will have the chance to contribute to state-of-the-art infrastructure in a region known for its incredible outdoor lifestyle, including skiing, biking, and hiking.
Responsibilities
- Act as a courageous safety leader by upholding and promoting all environmental and safety protocols across our operations.
- Provide hands-on field engineering support during the startup and commissioning phases of our advanced water treatment facilities.
- Collaborate with the maintenance execution team to manage daily activities, including contractor oversight, work order prioritization, and the planning of facility shutdowns.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you should bring a strong technical background and a collaborative spirit. We require the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field.
- Current registration, or eligibility for registration, with the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC).
- At least three years of relevant industry experience, specifically within mining or industrial maintenance and reliability settings.
- Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and foster a culture of knowledge sharing and operational excellence.
- Technical proficiency in reading and interpreting Process Engineering Flow Schemes (PEFS) and Isometric Drawings.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to participate in risk management processes such as HAZOPS and FMEA.
