Machine Learning Scientist at Arena AI

What is this role?

We are looking for a Senior Machine Learning Scientist to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis at our office in New York City. This is a high-impact role for someone who is passionate about building autonomous AI systems and wants to push the technical boundaries of what is possible in the industrial space.

What will you do?

• Design and develop machine learning systems that enable closed-loop automated decision-making for large-scale enterprise applications.
• Work across the entire development lifecycle, from initial exploratory research and experimental modeling to deploying robust, production-ready processes.
• Advance the field of AI by solving complex technical challenges and sharing your findings with the broader scientific community through open source contributions or research publications.

You should have a deep passion for artificial intelligence and a strong background in building scalable machine learning systems. We value clean code, engineering excellence, and the ability to communicate effectively within a cross-functional team. You will be successful here if you possess the following:

• Significant experience training, deploying, and maintaining models in a production environment.
• Proficiency with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, DeepSpeed, Ray, and PyTorch Lightning.
• A solid grasp of high-performance, large-scale ML architecture.
• Strong high-level programming skills.
• Bonus points if you have experience with reinforcement learning, active learning, causal inference, or Bayesian uncertainty estimation.
