We’re growing quickly and building the most trusted roofing platform in the world. Roofr gives roofers an all-in-one sales toolbox that delivers instant aerial roof measurements from drone, satellite, or blueprint imagery, then turns those measurements into polished, automated proposals that help close more deals. Our roadmap includes payment processing, consumer financing, workflow automation, and more, all in service of our mission to make quality roofs affordable for every family. With strong financials, experienced founders, and a culture that values impact and growth, we’re looking for exceptional people to help shape what comes next.
About the Role
We are hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer on a Full Time basis. In this remote position you will design, train, and deploy computer-vision models that turn satellite and aerial imagery into reliable roof intelligence, helping roofers work faster and more accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and productionize machine-vision models for semantic segmentation, anomaly detection, and entity classification on satellite and aerial imagery.
- Research, implement, and maintain advanced image-processing and computer-vision algorithms that integrate geospatial data such as RGB, DSM, and GeoJSON layers.
- Collaborate with software engineers to expose models through scalable APIs that power both web and mobile experiences.
Requirements
- Five to seven years of hands-on machine-learning experience, including deploying models to production environments.
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field with a focus on machine learning or computer graphics.
- Proven work with RGB, infrared, and DSM/DTM satellite or aerial imagery, as well as architectures such as CNNs, Fast R-CNNs, Mask R-CNNs, YOLO, and ImageNet-based networks.
- Strong proficiency in Python, PyTorch, PySpark, OpenCV, and Docker, plus experience training models on virtual machines, Google Kubernetes Engine, or Compute Engine.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform or AWS.
Location
This role is fully remote and open to candidates located anywhere.
Compensation and Benefits
We support your well-being and continued growth with a comprehensive package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your dependents, generous paid time off that begins with a mandatory first-week PTO, one Friday off each month, a company-wide holiday shutdown, and flexible scheduling. Additional perks include two annual company retreats, home-office setup reimbursement, a learning and development budget, and weekly Friday paydays.
